Lake Warren State Park - http://www.stateparks.com/lake_warren.html - Picnic facilities, a 200-acre lake and community building are prominent features of this state park. Perhaps the most intriguing aren't manmade, however.This 440-acre park has a floodplain forest that supports four species of pines, and other large tracts of wetlands and woodlands that are home to a variety of plants and animals.

Lower Savannah River Alliance - http://www.lowersavannahriveralliance.org - The beautiful and historical Savannah River was once called the "Isundiga River" by the Indians in the Lower Savannah River Alliance Region. The Savannah River is an important resource for both South Carolina and Georgia which can be enhanced and shared economically through nature-based tourism while protecting its natural beauty and uniqueness - the very things that make it so special and appealing. The Lower Savannah River Alliance is composed of members from three counties in Georgia and four in South Carolina dedicated to helping develop this resource. Activities include hunting, fishing, boating, bird watching, hiking, bicycling, and all types of nature study. Public properties are open on most days of the year, with various activities carefully scheduled well in advance in avoid conflicts. Edisto River Canoe & Kayak Trailhttp://www.edistoriver.org - Edisto River Basin is located in South Carolina. The Edisto River Basin is the world's longest free-flowing "blackwater" stream which encompasses twelve counties, including much of the midlands and Lowcountry areas of South Carolina. The blackwater refers to the tannic acids from the trees and vegetation around the river. The peaceful rate of flow making it ideal for paddling enthusiasts of all skill levels. The Edisto River Canoe and Kayak Trail Commission offers guided river trips throughout the year.
